About Us
All this started with a few Birthday presents to some girlfriend’s
kids and friends and family saying…"You should sell this stuff!!"
I’ve always had a "knack" for design and I guess growing up in a
single parent home and not a lot of funds to buy stuff…I learned to
compromise and make it myself. My "Granny" sewed dance costumes for
extra money and my Mom has always made EVERYTHING for me…from school
clothes to prom dresses.
The monogramming came in when I asked for one of those little Disney
embroidery/sewing machines from Wal-mart for my anniversary. I
embroidered everything I could hoop! Soon I was making stuff for
Ebay and it just went nuts!
I’m a nurse by trade, but after gaining some "poundage" and sitting
at a desk all day…just waiting to get off to go home and sew, I said
"Hey, I’m thirty-something…it’s now or never!" I closed my eyes,
held my breath, and said a huge prayer. With a small shove from my
husband and what little money we had saved…. we did it!
It’s been eight months and we have been "Sew Blessed!" I now have a
significant other…Allison. I thank God for her…she’s always here
with a smile on and she can sew!! Woo Hoo!
God said he would give seed to the "sewer"…he’s so faithful. The
people in Flowood and surrounding areas have been so kind. I have
made so many new friends and I LOVE MY JOB!! I can even bring
ShuggaPie, which all my friends know I’ve always wanted to do. The
kids now introduce me as "Lil’ Ms. Sew & Sew" instead of "Mom". My
customers working the night shift, see me "burning the midnight
oil", and always call to check on me…and I can hardly keep up…life
is good!
It’s awesome being a part of your life. In a way we have played a
small part in the intimate beginnings and endings of your families
lives. We cherish these. I sew your christening bonnets and Wayne
engraves your pet’s grave markers as if they were our own. That’s
why our work has that extra something. That’s why you keep coming
back and telling your family and friends. If it were not for you…I
would not have this awesome job.
I have been sending orders out to Bay Springs, Ocean Springs,
Kentucky and Florida. I said "ya know, I’ve got to get a website!"
